Dr. Pradip Gyanwali (MBBS, MD (Clinical Pharmacology) Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj Medical Campus) is a vice chancelor in Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences ( a deem university in health sciences), Bagmati Province,Hetauda,Nepal, recently appointed by provincial government of Bagmati province for four years. He was an Executive Chief (Member Secretary) of the Nepal Health Research Council, Government of Nepal( nominated by Nepal Government and completed his 4 years tenure). He is involved as Principal Investigator in multiple research projects of Nepal especially focused on clinical trials, RECOVERY trial( led by oxford university), WHO slidarity trial of drugs related to COVID 19, epidemic intelligence study related to COVID 19 virus genomics led by welcome and trust, other clinical researches related to COVID and Non COVID 19 related,herbal drug development, Non Communicable Disease (NCD), and other priority areas of Health Research of Nepal.He has published more than 80 articles in both national and international Journals. He has got more than 4000 citations in google schlors. He had served as a leading core technical team member representing health researchers at the Ministry of Health and population. to respond COVID-19 pandemic. He had contributed to health policy and had worked with the Nepali government on developing health policy.
Under Dr. Gyanwali’s leadership, Nepal Health Research Council had conducted, supervised and monitored many important health research studies that had helped to improve the health of the Nepali people.
One of his career highlights came from MBBS, Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal and MD,ClinicalPharmacology Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal. Due to his academic excellence, he was awarded by Prof Kumud Kumar Kafle gold medal for scoring highest marks in MD, Clinical Pharmacology program/subject. He got the best prize during COVID by the ministry of science and technology for doing the best to minimize disaster during COVID by research activities.
He has made significant contributions to the understanding and advancement of health research in Nepal.
Now he is serving in Madan Bhandari academy of Health Sciences to uplift the health status of Bagmati province as well as National level through Health services, academics in Health Research and Research related activities
