Institutional Review Comittee (IRC)

Institutional Review Committee (IRC-MBAHS) of Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences (MBAHS), called as IRC-MBAHS hereafter, is a body comprising of academic researchers and other relevant authorities. IRC-MBAHS has been established in 19^th September 2022 with the objective to conduct ethical review of the proposals submitted by the faculties and the students within the institute and institutional collaborations.

IRC-MBAHS is an Institutional standing ethics committee which functions independently. The role of the IRC-MBAHS is to review in advance all research proposals involving human subjects" data, and to monitor the progress of projects that have been reviewed by the IRC-MBAHS. In addition, the IRC reviews research conducted by parties not affiliated with the Institute, but which uses MBAHS students, faculty or staff as research subjects.

Fill the form completely. Please note that uncompleted form will not be processed further.
It is mandatory to submit the proposal electronically to mbahs-irc@mbahs.edu.np
Submit fully completed application form along with the required documents (listed below)

LIST OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (Checklist):

Personal covering letter addressing to Chairperson/Member Secretary of IRC-MBAHS.
Curriculum Vitae of Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator and other team members in pdf format or Word format.
Photos of Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator and other team members in jpg format.
Scanned Signature of Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator and other team members in jpg format
If the Principal Investigator is a non-Nepali citizen, one Principal/Co-Principal Investigator should be a Nepali citizen who is related to that research
Data collection tools should be in Nepali and local language (if necessary) including interviews and Focused Group Discussion guideline, observation checklist, questionnaires etc.
Consent form should be in Nepali and local language (if necessary)
Conceptual framework, If applicable
If the research study is to be conducted in a hospital/organization or institution a letter of acceptance from the related hospital/organization or institution should be provided
The Proposal should have Institutional ethical clearance from his/her own country if submitted from academic and related institution
